Last weekend, we had the folks from Mad Sat using the campsite as their base for one of their annual races from Ross on Wye down to Symonds Yat.
Around 8 rafts of various sizes were launched, causing quite some havoc on the river as the rowers were out, and we also have some canoists waiting to launch as well.
Evidently, it only takes them around one and a half hours to do the trip, so they must be moving pretty quickly. I’m not sure whether they are coming back again later in the year, but it is quite a spectacle. If you happen to be camping with us at the same time, it is worth checking out.
I am the campsite warden at Ross Rowing Club, where I live a simple life, close to nature, taking care of the campsite grounds and helping campers.
